The latest terror plot in our homeland is a reaction to Xenophobia and Islamophobia, a polarized hate environment created by the unethical mainstream media organizations and selfish politicians who are wicked opportunist for their vested interest. Politicians and media have brainwashed the minds of our citizens and young adults by selling lies and hate against American Muslims to gather votes.
Greece Police N.Y, arrested 20-year-old Brian Colaneri of Gates, 18-year-old Andrew Crysel of East Rochester, 19-year-old Vincent Vetromile of Greece, and a 16-year-old Odyssey Academy student on the charges of possessing explosives, plotting to attack Muslim community of Islamberg in Delaware County, New York. Islamberg is a community of several hundred Muslim Americans located about a three-hour drive northwest of New York City that is about 40 miles east of Binghamton NY.
CNN reports that all four terror suspects are from Rochester, New York, area. Each one of them was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of conspiracy. The 16-year-old young male is being classified as an “adolescent offender” and his name and picture have not been released by the police. The four suspects are accused of possessing multiple IEDs in the shape of medium to large-sized cylinders and mason jars wrapped in duct tape.
What caused these young adult minds to be brainwashed and develop so much hate that they are willing to kill innocent civilians for no reason. Islamophobia is manufactured and a tool of manipulation, endangering the very fabric of this great country. When young citizens of this country get involved in similar kind of behavior as those by ISIS terrorists living in the caves of Afghanistan and deserts of Iraq and Syria then what is the difference between them and civilized society like ours. American media and politicians are cultivating the same kind of hate and bigotry as ISIS and AlQaeda have been preaching to brainwash the less educated people in the third world country.
Why is terrorism undertaken in the name of Islam treated differently than other acts of terror? CNN has reported this news as a non-event. If the same terror was framed by some American Muslim then this would have been a major headline on the News Network. There would be tweets and press conferences by the President and the prime time hours would have been fully occupied by reporting this news on all the major news networks in the country.
We have discussed this on our other blogs that Xenophobia and Islamophobia play right into the hands of organizations like ISIS who want to see divisiveness in a western society based on religion. Terrorist ideology can only be fought by uniting against it and not by hate and discrimination against the fellow Muslim citizens. Americans need to stand up together as one body against any kind of hate and violent extremism and the media needs to play a similar role. When media discriminates between the white and brown terrorism and when our politicians use selective condemnation of terror events and preach hate and lies for votes and selfish objectives then America is actually playing at the hands of ISIS.
